POC IN A COLLABORATES WITH PASCALL+WATSON ARCHITECTS

Only 1.5% of Architects in the UK are Black...and only 0.4% of Architects are Black and Female - (ARB).

Awareness is good. Action is better.

In light of Black History Month, POC in Architecture CIC and Pascall+Watson came together for a ‘Day in the Life’ experience for two Black Architecture students in our network.

Our brilliant students, Kanwulia Elizabeth Ilombu and Lateefat Sanni, spent the day learning from Black professionals in Architecture, BIM, and Marketing, and tackling a design challenge envisioning future collaborations between POC in Architecture and Pascall+Watson.

Alongside this, our team (Johannah Fening & Trixie Bedwei) shared how our mentoring, workshops, and partnerships are helping bridge the gap for underrepresented students across the UK.

Our students, Kanwulia and Lateefat, also took to the stage, offering heartfelt reflections on what it means to be underrepresented in the industry and the value they’ve gained from being part of POC in Architecture’s mentoring and development initiatives.
